The study of speech arts and drama develops communication skills and nurtures creativity and artistic expression. Training in this discipline, extends not only the art of speaking through the interpretation and performance of literature and drama, but also the training in both public speaking and improvisational skills.
Our Effective Communication programs are designed for anyone who wishes to achieve strength, confidence and ability in social conversation, public speaking and performance.
Through our programs, students will learn to use their voices to speak with power, clarity, and confidence. This ability is one of the best tools for success in today's world and everyday life. For some this will lead to becoming RCM (Toronto, Canada) accredited and/or Trinity College (London, England) accredited through completion of our programs.
The RCM Certificate Program is an internationally recognized system that is developed, designed, maintained, and assessed by leading North American pedagogues and studio teachers.
The cost is dependent on many factors including the length of the private lesson (ie. 30 minutes/45 minutes/one hour), the instructor assigned to the student and the number of lessons (full year or partial year). Please contact Studio Director for updated fee schedule and payment options.
We do not offer ‘trial’ lessons, ‘drop in’ lessons or ‘pay-as-you-go’ lessons. The best time to try out private lessons is in the summer (July – August). A flexible program is offered in the summer when students can take a minimum of three (3) lessons to see if the program fits their needs & objectives.
Although most of our students are registered in the Signature Private program, some students start out in group programs to experience the benefits of the training we offer. Our small group programs focus on setting the foundation for emerging public speakers. Our Signature Private program takes this training to another level. The full year private program offers many exciting opportunities for students to perform in front of live audiences.
Our lessons are In-person at The Speech Studio. We do offer on-line lessons for students who do not live in the Edmonton area.
Many of our clients register two or more family members. However, we do not offer discounts to clients registering more than one family member.
We recommend thirty (30) minutes for children 12 and under, especially if the child is new to the studio. Forty-five (45) minutes is recommended for children 13 and over.

These include competitive sports teams, music and drama clubs, student government, and a variety of special interest groups. Our aim is to provide students with opportunities to explore their passionsand develop new skills.
Our school prioritizes student safety with measures including secure campus access, regular safety drills, and a dedicated school safety team. We also have protocols in place for emergencies and health concerns.
Our typical school day runs from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The school year follows a traditional academic calendar with breaks for holidays and vacations. For specific dates, please refer to our School Calendar.
